Wesleyan Methodist Church WW1 Memorial
Brass memorial rescued from Wesleyan Methodist Church prior to demolition of the building in 2012.
The names of 35 service personnel from the First World War are recorded of whom 4 were killed or died whilst on active service.
It consists of a rectangular, brass plaque 769mm high and 562mm wide, formerly wall mounted (6 screw holes). Lettering is incised into plaque and highlighted by the use of white chalk or similar? The brass is discoloured – the discolouring is uneven – and there are some paint marks around the edges of the plaque where it has been marked by a decorator’s brush.
