Tredegar’s First World War Research group visited Siloh Uniting Church on Bridge Street in Tredegar on 9th January 2015 in order to record its collection of 5 separate memorials and rolls of honour dedicated to men who served and also those who were killed in the First World War.
There are 2 memorials in Siloh dedicated to men of its own Baptist congregation: One is a grey marble plaque containing the names of 5 men of the congregation who were killed; the other comprises a written roll of honour, which contains a longer list of names of those men of the congregation who served and returned from the First World War.
There are another 2 memorials in Siloh dedicated to men of the congregation of the former English Baptist Church which stood at Church Street in Tredegar: One is a marble plaque containing the names of men of the congregation who were killed; the other comprises a written roll of honour, which contains a longer list of names of those men of the congregation who served and returned from the First World War.
