Buried at Ebbw Vale Cemetery; one of 4 individuals who lie in unmarked graves; commemorative headstone has been placed near the lodge entrance and a memorial tablet placed alongside which states that these individuals lie buried elsewhere in this cemetery.
Location: [Unmarked grave] C. 13. 26.
There is doubt as to whether the Daniel Higgins on the 1901 and 1911 census of Ebbw Vale is the same individual as there are significant discrepancies in the places of birth and ages of the individuals so named. Dan’s place of birth given in the ‘Soldiers died in the Great War’ database cannot be verified and a search of modern day place-names has proved fruitless.
