Private Albert Dimmick of Blaina
Private Albert Dimmick aged 23. He was a member of ‘D’ Company in the 3rd battalion of the Monmouthshire Regiment.
According to the regimental diary, Albert was seriously injured 2 days earlier with a gunshot wound to his head. He was buried within Poperinghe Old Military Cemetery close to a casualty clearing station near Ypres in Belgium.
Albert worked as a coal hewer and was the son of Henry and Sarah Dimmick of Blaina. In 1911 Albert married Mary Ann Jones and they had one daughter together, Elsie born in 1912.
